I don’t know about you, but staying organized and getting stuff done seems really hard sometimes?!?! I hear from a lot of people “how do you get it all done?” Honestly I often ask myself the same question. Staying at home provides me with so much more time but some how I seem to fill up every second of the day. I used to try to get all my house cleaning done on Mondays. Although it was great because I went straight from my PJ’S to my sweats with no guilt, it just seemed overwhelming. So after looking around for ideas I started doing different chores on different days. It works so much better that way!!
Here’s another tip…… I plan my meals for the week on Sunday. We go to church, I stop by the coffee shop and pick up the Sunday paper to get flyers and coupons, I go home I circle what’s on sale, clip coupons and then I pick my meals for the week based on whats on sale. I type them into my chart and hit print. I like to put it on the side of my fridge so I can check off things as I get them done.
Last but not least make yourself a collection of your favorite recipes. I take index cards and I write the name of the recipe on the top of the card followed by the book/page or website it came from. I then list all the ingredients along with the quantities needed and file them based on Chicken, Fish, Beef, Pasta, Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, Sides, Dessert. Each time I try a new recipe I make a new card. I then sit down and pick recipes for each day of the week and simply write my grocery list from the index cards. Trust me this is a LIFE SAVER!!!!! I would like to re-do my box to make it prettier but for now it works!!!
I made myself the chart below on excel. I haven’t figured out how to make nice printables yet but I’m working on it!! This is great I fill it in and print it out. I hang it on the side of my fridge and as I get things done I cross them off. It keeps me on track and focused for the week.
