Do You Want To Know Why I Blog?

Why Do I Blog

If someone told me two years ago that I would be blogging and LOVING it, I would have laughed in their face. I know that a few of my friends think I’m a bit nuts with the whole “blogging” thing, but can I tell you that it really has changed my life!

Being a housewife and a mom of two very handsome boys ,I’m not bias at all, really! But before long I fell into a rut. I had a hard time enjoying the daily tasks that I did and I started resenting being home. Staying at home was a dream come true. At one point in my life I owned my own salon and every day I was torn inside because I wanted to be at home. Finally, my husband and I we were able to make my dream come true and I sold the salon to become a housewife and a mom.

At first it was great, I was always checking off my to do list and many days I was amazed at what I could get done, but slowly I started to wonder if it was enough. I wanted more. Isn’t that kind of sad? I finally got what I had been waiting for and all I could do was complain about it!

Once I started using Pinterest, I started reading blogs, using them for recipes and projects. Slowly but surely, I started thinking about starting my own blog, but I couldn’t get myself to do it. I kept telling myself it was a waste of time and who it really going to read it anyway. I was scared to put myself out there but finally, I jumped in. I started blogging once and a while and I was shocked that people were really reading what wrote. I started sharing my journey of just being me and what I do around the house.

I blog because I can. I blog because I enjoy sharing my life with others. I blog because it gives me joy. I blog because I love to hear what others have to say. I blog because it encourages me to be creative. I blog because it encourages me to be in love with my home. I blog because I enjoy learning and there is always something new to learn. I blog because it helps me be me. I blog because I want to inspire others.

I am still new to the whole blogging world, but it’s been a great experience so far. I don’t know where my blog will go, it’s not about money or becoming known as a great blogger, although those things would be added perks, it’s about what brings me joy. I hope that I can inspire you to love your home and everything in it. Thank you for reading, thank you for following my journey, thank you for sharing the things you love here on Voluntown Housewife on your social media pages and thank you for your encouragment. I look forward to seeing how Voluntown Housewife will grow. Life is a journey and where we end up no one knows but I want to enjoy all the moments in between, that’s why I blog!!

Hi Jamie. You recently stopped by my little Irish food and lifestyle blog (www.inanirishhome.com) and left a very kind comment. Thank you so much. This morning, while everyone is sleeping, I finally got a few quiet minutes to return the favour and stop by your blog! This post, in particular, really resonated with me. I too love being home with/for my family. I feel blessed to have this privilege. But, sometimes, I feel like there may/should be/could be more. Blogging has been a wonderful experience for me too. Reaching out through the internet to people both locally and internationally has been great fun! So, good on you…I’ll be following your blog from now on and keeping up and sharing with what’s happening in your world too. God bless. Kim
